Construction Superintendent – Traveling

The successful candidate will have a strong project background in Construction Management and MEP services.  This position requires an enthusiastic self-starter who is a team player with excellent communication, managerial and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities of Traveling Superintendent:

  • Oversee and audit site safety and quality control programs
  • Ensure site security and maintain site logistics management plan as defined by the Project Team
  • Networking and building relationships with new and existing subcontractors, includes evaluating subs
  • Accomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders
  • Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements
  • Coordinate equipment and specialty material deliveries and staging requirements
  • Maintain project as-built documentation and site coordination drawings
  • Establish work completion and punch lists for trade contractors in accordance with established Quality Control and Quality Assurance Programs
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Qualifications of Traveling Superintendent:

  • B.S. degree in Construction Management or Engineering
  • A minimum of two to five years related experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor
  • Experience supervising and managing multiple subcontractors on multiple construction and repair projects
  • Basic computer understanding including e-mail, MS Office and internet access
  • Ability to completely understand subcontractor’s scope of work pertaining to project
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to assist VP on all requests for projects
  • Ability to maintain good customer relations
